Do I have to run?
No! This is an event to cater for all and is aimed at participation and getting out and being active. It is a great opportunity to catch up with friends while having some physical activity. You can either run it or walk it, or even do a bit of both! Whatever suits you and your fitness level.
We do advise that if you are planning to walk the half marathon that you walk at a steady pace as there are restrictions on how long road closures will be in place. You will be asked to move the footpath if you are still on the course when roads re-open.
Is there a time limit for finishing?
There is no time limit for finishing, however if you are on course when the roads are due to open (see road closures) then you will be asked to move onto the footpath. This applies for both the 7km and the half marathon distances.
What do I do with my race number?
The number that you are allocated must be worn at all times, and can be attached to your chest by the safety pins provided. If you are part of a family or team entry please ensure you have the correct number and timing tag. You have registered under this number therefore your time will only be correct if you have the correct number and timing tag.
What do I do with my shoe tag?
The shoe tag must be tied to your shoelaces for a time to be recorded. Participants under the age of 5 will not receive a shoe tag. Instructions will be printed on the back of your race number on how to attach the shoe tag.
If you do not have laces please secure to your shoe using twist ties.
NB. Those who do NOT return their shoe tags at the end of the event will incur a $25 fee. You must hand your shoe tag to the race officials before receiving your complimentary Bonita banana and water bottle.
How does the shoe tag work?
There are mats that will be placed on the start line, when you run/walk over these your shoe tag will automatically begin to time you. It will continue until you cross the finish line where there are also mats that stop your shoe tag and record your final time.
The tag must be on your shoe in order for it to work - not in your pocket.
NB. You MUST cross the start line in order to record your time. Do NOT join the race after the start line, you will be the disappointed one and we will not be able to officially record how many participants we have.
Can I collect my race number and race pack before the event?
