Wellington round the bays
Transport & Road Closures

What is the best way to get to the event?
The TSB Bank Arena will not be available for parking due to other events that will be taking place on the same day. However, all parking buildings in the CBD and surrounding areas will be open as normal. Please be aware that many of the roads will be closed therefore we advise that you leave the car at home and take advantage of free transport provided by GoWellington, Valley Flyer and Tranz Metro.

Pre-register with Sport Wellington and you can use your Pelorus Trust Wellington Round the Bays or New Balance Half Marathon race number to travel free on any TranzMetro train (Paraparaumu, Hutt Valley and Johnsonville lines) or any Go Wellington or Valley Flyer bus to and from the event. In order to take advantage of this deal you must collect your race pack prior to the day of the event.

Go Wellington will be providing a complimentary bus service from Kilbirnie Park back to the Railway Station. Buses will depart from 10.30am to 1pm.

NB. There will be a designated wheelchair drop off point at the Whitmore St/Customhouse Quay intersection.

Will the roads be closed for an extended period of time?

The roads will be opening progressively as the last participant passes through. Jervois Quay is expected to be opening around 10.15am and the last road will be open by no later than 12pm.
