Come join in the buzz of Wellington’s biggest fun run and walk on Sunday 23 February 2014. AMI Round the Bays Wellington takes advantage of a
picturesque setting which winds its way around Wellington’s stunning
inner city harbour.
The 6.5km Fun Run/Walk starts in the city
centre and follows Oriental and Evans Bays Parade to Kilbirnie Park in
the City’s south-east.
New for 2014, the Snapper 10km and the Lenco Half Marathon continue along Cobham Drive and onto Shelly Bay Road where the 10km turns and makes its way back to Kilbirnie Park.
The Half Marathon continues around
the Miramar Peninsula where it hugs the harbour shoreline, before
returning to the finish line festival at Kilbirnie Park.
At the finish line live music, food stalls, the Southern Cross Family Zone, corporate marquee area, spot prizes
and massage tents all add to the festival atmosphere.
The 2013 event saw the event sell out for a second consecutive year, with a record field of over 13,700 runners. We have increased capacity in 2014 to 14,000 but expect it to sell out once again.
The event is organised by Sport Wellington, a regional sports trust which promotes and supports sport and recreation in the Wellington region. Returning in 2014 is AMI Insurance as principal sponsor. AMI is proud to continue their support of the AMI Round the Bays for the fourth year. They have a strong affinity with the communities in which they operate and a commitment to supporting Sport Wellington and the Wellington community.
Also returning in 2014 as the Official Charity Partner, is the Malaghan Institute. Based at Wellington's Victoria University campus, the Malaghan Institute is New Zealand's leading independent medical research facility. The scientists at the Malaghan Institute are dedicated to finding a cure for cancer, asthma, arthritis, MS and infectious diseases. You can raise money for their amazing work by 'Running for Research'.
Our other fantastic sponsors returning for 2014 are Lenco (Naming rights sponsor of the Lenco Half Marathon), Les Mills Gyms, ZM and the Dominion Post.
We would like to welcome Snapper to the team as the naming rights sponsor for the Snapper 10km. It's fantastic to have them on board.
