Bib collection

This year to collect your race bib you must visit one of our bib collection locations. You will need to bring your vaccine pass, a face mask, and your participant ID (which we will send out to you the week before).

Wellington & Kapiti Coast

There is free public transport across the entire Metlink network for race participants and volunteers from 6am-3pm on race day (20th February)

  • Participants: Race bib required to claim free ride

  • Volunteers: Lanyards and T-shirts

  • Free trains from anywhere on the network

  • Free buses on all routes

  • Free harbour ferry services (note the Sunday service doesn’t leave early enough to make it in time for start of the race)

  • Also free one way shuttle service from Kilbirnie park to Courtenay Place and Wellington Railway Station (last shuttle departs approx. 1:30pm)

Please note: Face coverings are mandatory on public transport. Metlink will have some masks on hand at Kilbirnie park for passengers boarding the shuttles, but we encourage you to bring your own.

Parking will be available from 6:30am at Sky Stadium for gold coin donation to the Cancer Society Wellington.


Wairarapa Transport: limited spaces are available on a charter bus leaving Masterton at 6:30AM, stopping at Featherston and returning from Wellington at approx. 12PM.

Road Closures

To ensure the event is run safely there will be numerous road closures in place for event day - Sunday 20th February 2022. Click here to view road closures and alternative routes.

Start Times

We recommend you arrive at Frank Kitts Park 30 minutes before your race and move to the start line 15 minutes before to listen to the health and safety briefing. 

7:45am Globelet Half Marathon

8:30am Bluebridge 10km

9:15am MAS 6.5km Fun Run/Walk

9:25am Pak’n’Save Buggy Walk & Metlink Active Families

If you are walking in any of the categories, especially in the 10km and Half Marathon please start near the back of the field.

Where to store your gear on race day

To enhance your race day experience we recommend reducing the items you bring along on race day by tying an extra layer around your waist and using a RunEZ hip belt to store your phone, keys and wallet. 


We will be offering a checked bagged service that transports your bags from the start line (Frank Kitts Park) to the finish line (Kilbirnie Park). This will be positioned on the north end side of Frank Kitts Park.
